ADDING CUSTOM BIOMES

To add a custom biome entry to the Field Guide, edit the file:

data/fieldguideadditions/fieldguide/categories/modded_biomes.json

Example:

{
"sort_index": 2,
"icon": "minecraft:grass_block",
"contents": [
{
"type": "virtual_entry",
"id": "fieldguideadditions:rainforest",
"virtual_type": "tutorial",
"icon": "fieldguideadditions:textures/fieldguide/entries/rainforest_page.png"
}
]
}

FIELD EXPLANATIONS

"sort_index"
Controls the order that the Modded Biomes category appears in the Field Guide. Lower numbers appear first.

"icon"
The item used as the category icon. This can be any valid Minecraft item ID.

Examples:
minecraft:grass_block
minecraft:apple
minecraft:compass

"type": "virtual_entry"
This should always be left as "virtual_entry" for custom biome entries.

"id"
This is the unique Field Guide entry ID.

Example:

fieldguideadditions:rainforest

Important:

* The ID should always begin with "fieldguideadditions:"
* The ID must match the unlock ID used in the biome unlock file.
* The ID must match the lang keys used for the entry name and description.
* The ID must match any loot modifier entries added to the biome.

"virtual_type": "tutorial"
This should always be left as "tutorial".

"icon"
This is the image shown on the left page of the biome entry.

Example:

fieldguideadditions:textures/fieldguide/entries/rainforest_page.png

The image file must be placed at:

assets/fieldguideadditions/textures/fieldguide/entries/

Recommended image size:

512 x 512 PNG

EXAMPLE

Biome Entry ID:
fieldguideadditions:rainforest

Biome Unlock:
fieldguideadditions:rainforest

Lang Keys:
fieldguide.name.fieldguideadditions.rainforest
fieldguide.fieldguideadditions.rainforest.description

Image:
assets/fieldguideadditions/textures/fieldguide/entries/rainforest_page.png

All of these should use the same entry name ("rainforest") to ensure the entry works correctly.
